TripAdvisor Says Myrtle Beach Is The Nation's Top Beach Destination. But What's The Top Place To Visit When You're In Myrtle Beach?

We all want to enjoy the best of the best. But who isn't on a budget these days? So we settle.

Well, now you don't have to.

One of the nation's most affordable vacation destinations has finally gotten props for also being the best. Okay, those of us who live in the Myrtle Beach area already knew that – but it's nice to have some objective voices chime in.

TripAdvisor recently proclaimed Myrtle Beach the “Best Destination In The U. S. For Beach and Sun.” This big-time travel counseling web site also turned a spotlight on the best places to go when you're in Myrtle Beach. And the #1 spot is (drum roll, please): Broadway at the Beach.

Recent visitors wrote on TripAdvisor that Myrtle Beach is “awesome” and “amazing.” The same can be said for the mega shopping, dining and entertainment center that is fun central for Myrtle Beach.

So what makes the 350-acre Broadway at the Beach so special?

Well, for one thing, it's big. Really big. And it's chock full of something for everyone.
Like to eat? 19 restaurants with every kind of food and atmosphere are there to serve you. There are more than 100 shops carrying just about anything you'd want. Movie theaters – regular, 3-D and the 3-D on steroids IMAX theatre.

There's live entertainment at the beautiful Palace Theatre, and even a nightclub district where you'll find all types of music being performed.

As if that's not enough, there's a super aquarium and fireworks every week in the summer. This year, there's even a new zip line to whisk the adventurous through the air across a 23-acre lake. Surfaholics can get their fix at a super Ron Jon Surf Shop. An upside down museum called WonderWorks is under construction and slated to open in 2011.

14 million people can't be wrong. That's how many tourists make a beeline for Broadway at the Beach each year. If you haven't been one of them, maybe it's time to book a family trip to Myrtle Beach.
