Sustainability. That means you eat what's fresh and grown or raised in the area you're visiting. Smart, huh?
Good for the environment. Good for the local economy. Good for your tummy. Yummy, too.
In Myrtle Beach, one of the best restaurants in town is so into sustainability that SC applauded them for their dedication to serving the freshest of fresh seafood.
The place is WaterScapes, a casual fine dining restaurant within Myrtle Beach, S.C.'s Marina Inn at Grande Dunes. The South Carolina Aquarium gave WaterScapes this pat on the back and the state's highest score because WaterScapes menu goes above and beyond the program's requirements.
Fish served at WaterScapes are hand-selected off the fishing boats in Murrells Inlet a few miles south of Myrtle Beach and featured nightly on the “Fish Board.” Top choices include local selections like hog snapper, rock hinds, triggerfish, black bass and Amberjack.
Other fresh menu items include fruits,vegetables, beef, chicken and pork from nearby farms like Indigo Farms in Little River, S.C., and Ovis Hill Farm in Timmonsville, S.C. just up the road from Myrtle Beach.
James Clark, head chef at WaterScapes, is an artist — and his culinary team works magic with the fresh ingredients they assemble each day. This food not only tastes extraordinary, it looks awesome when delivered to your table.
