The Possum Awakens, Providing An Even Better Golf Experience Than Before

Myrtle Beach, S.C. is known for great golf and friendly people. But for the last several weeks, the friendliest place along the Grand Strand has not been open for business.

Possum Trot Golf Club, located in North Myrtle Beach, S.C., closed on May 17 to do some upgrading. The idea was to keep this beautiful little gem of a course in tip-top shape. And, while most golfers who played it recently thought it was pretty good as it was, its owners thought they could do better.

On June 18, the course reopened. And, it was worth the wait.

Eight greens have been rebuilt and drainage was improved around some greens. Several tees were rebuilt and a bunch of mounds were added throughout the course to increase visual interest.

Now, it's back up and running, just waiting for you to tee it up. If you haven't had the Possum Trot experience, check it out. The course has an honored place in the history of Myrtle Beach because it was one of the first ten championship courses built along Myrtle Beach’s Grand Strand. Its design and conditioning have enabled it to stand the test of time.

If you like charming Old English designs, spacious fairways, challenging par 5’s and flawlessly manicured greens, Possum Trot is for you.

Golf Digest calls it the “Most Underrated Golf Course In Myrtle Beach” with the “Best On-Course Practice Facility in Myrtle Beach.” Locals call it "the friendliest course at the beach."

Once you experience Possum Trot, you'll want to make it a regular stop on all your annual Myrtle Beach trips.
