Include Myrtle Beach's Wonderful New Attraction In Your 2011 Vacation Plans

Schools in. Winter's around the corner. Time to start planning your 2011 Myrtle Beach vacation.

Like the rest of the country, Myrtle Beach has been kinda snoozing away the year. Sure, all the great stuff that's been here is still here, but not much new has been built. Now the town that used to be known for introducing new attractions every year is coming back to life.

In 2011, a four-story tall, upside down building resting on an older building will be poking out of the southwestern end of Broadway at the Beach.

Say what?

If you've been to Orlando, you've seen the building. It's an eye-catcher if ever there was one.

And now Myrtle Beach will have one. In fact, it's the first one in the Carolinas. It's WonderWorks, and it's an interactive attraction for the mind.

Translation: it's pretty darn cool. More than 100 interactive exhibits. 35,000-square-feet of sophisticated graphic and audio presentations that are both mentally and physically stimulating.

Get inside the “hurricane hole” and feel the 74 mile-per-hour winds of a category 1 storm. Lay on a bed of 3,500 sharp nails without feeling pain. Leave your imprint in a Wonder Wall made of 40,000 plastic pins. Feel what it's like to transcend time and space in the XD Theater 4-D Extreme Motion Ride with incredibles special effects and full-motion seats.

Astronaut wannabes can even take the controls of a NASA spacecraft and land it on a virtual airstrip.

So put WonderWorks at the top of your Myrtle Beach “to do” list for 2011. It opens in March. Meanwhile, check out www.wonderworksonline.com .
