The Secret Season Is Upon Us

The kids are in school. The uncrowded beaches are dotted with people moving at a slower pace. The humidity has headed south and the cold air is already up north for the winter. It's Fall along the Carolina coast.

This is the time of the year that locals enjoy the most. They call it the "secret" season.

There are deals to be had all over the 60-mile stretch of Myrtle Beach's Grand Strand. Hotel and villa prices are down from the summer highs. Campgrounds and RV parks are uncrowded and yet still filled with activities for young and old.

More than 100 golf courses are competing for golfers with special deals and stay and play packages. Christmas shows are starting up at The Carolina Opry, Palace Theatre and the Alabama Theater. Shopping deals are all around. Great restaurants can be sampled and their award-winning chefs have time to stop by your table and chat. And many restaurants are running 2 for 1 dinner specials.

The beach is still warm and toasty, and the ocean water cool but pleasant.

The fish are biting and it's a perfect time for boating.

The locals have kept this a secret for years. But the secret season is tailor-made for vacationers looking for a little low cost, high value R& R.
